On the 18th of May, 2023, the Chair of the WASP, Mr. Abdalah Mokssit --also IPCC Secretary in Geneva-- made an official visit to the WASP Secretariat at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mr. Mokssit and the Secretariat, represented by Dr. Maarten Kappelle, Dr. Ying Wang, and Ms. Kaisa Uusimaa, discussed various WASP 2023 products and services, including the Adaptation Gap Report and the upcoming Adaptation Futures conference (to be held in Montreal, Canada, 2-6 October 2023), among others. Also, a proposal for the Agenda of the Fourth Annual Meeting of the WASP (also in Montreal in October) was reviewed and discussed.
Dr. Jian Liu, WASP Management Group Member and UNEP Director of the Early Warning and Assessment Division, joined the meeting and provided further insights on behalf of UNEP.
