making science work for climate adaptation

4 November 2021

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the 6th edition of the Adaptation Gap Report, "The Gathering Storm", in a high-level online press event. As the world looks to step up efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions – efforts that are still nowhere near strong enough – the report finds that the growth in climate impacts is far outpacing our efforts to adapt to them.

The Paris Agreement requires all its signatories to plan and implement adaptation measures through national adaptation plans, studies, and the monitoring of climate change effects.
